Azzan trotted to the waters edge. He had left his sister back in the scorching desert some place, he was sure she was perfectly happy there. With a small chuckle he walked out into the water. The soothing feel of the cool water against his black fur was amazing. It was so hot out here that he just wanted to die, where as Ayla wanted to live. He was sure if he went away from the lush trees, grass, and cool water he'd see her some place out the the horizon playing with fire since it was so easy and safe to conjure out here.
Turning his attention back to the water Azzan walked out completely until only his head was barley above water. He took a moment before pushing off the ground and swimming to the other side of the cool water. He laid down far enough in the water that his back was still completely covered. It was nice out here now, kept cool by the water, but not cold because of the heat.
He could hear the sounds of small animals around the water. they wouldn't dare come close though with him there. Although he had no intentions of hunting right now so they were completely safe unless he saw a particularly plump one.
Focusing back on the water intently Azzan made a snake like form of water. Twisting it in all different directions and through itself. It was a fun thing to play with. He shot a few at the shore, at no particular point. He wondered when his sister might show up again, if she would for a long time. Chuckling slightly, it would be awhile until she was done with her games. Relaxing Azzan settled for playing with his water. Speeeeech!

The anger and feeling of betrayal had ebbed away now and was replaced with nothing but worry. Sullivan was seven years old. He was by no means a young wolf, but she never saw any hint of his age plaguing him physically. Had something happened to him? It wasn't like him to just...vanish. Well, at least vanish from her anyways. He never really seemed to like anyone else.
Voxah lay on a flat rock that lined the forest. Ivory sand stretched out in front of her, reflecting the red sky like a bone soaked with blood. The meeting had been quite the success, and she really had Belle to thank for that. She was proving to be a lot more reliable than...well you know. Immediately she shook of the thought, not wanting to dwindle on such depressing things. After all, don't worry about what you can't change. With a soft sigh, she lay her head down upon crossed paws.
The air around her was cool, though dry. The lone alphess shut her eyes for a moment, feeling as her body almost disappeared into the shadows without the illumination of her gaze. It was a good feeling, to vanish sometimes. Being a loner and hopping right up to alpha was really a draining kind of thing. Pressure wasn't really her forte.
Soft pawsteps caused her ears to twitch, though her eyes remained shut. It was obviously someone from the pack, for there was no tension as they walked. They knew they belonged here. The water's surface was interrupted, quite a bit more than if the wolf was simply drinking. Her eyes, along with her mouth stayed closed. Reaching out to him, she spoke without tongue or teeth. Her voice caressed the inside of the mystery male's thoughts. Enjoying yourself?

He allowed the water to fall for a moment before picking it back up and creating small waves wither it. Azzan was in some ways scared to figured out just exactly what he could do with water. He knew his sister could already conjure fire without having a source. The scary thing about that was she didn't even get tired anymore like she use to. It use to drain her energy, but now she could summon a wall of fire and still be as hyper as a pup. Shaking his head Azzan stopped his playing. Sometimes he swore his sister had greater plans than just what she said. Though he knew that thought was false, it was something most wolves would think.
The sun hung high in the sky right now, the red sky illuminated by it even further. As Azzan stood he repelled the water from his pelt until he was completely dry and out of the water. It really wasn't so hot here by the water. He was sure where ever his sister was it was scorching hot, and he wasn't implying to her looks. With a chuckle he shook out his stiff pelt fluffing it back up.
The light voice of another would entered his mind, though he didn't have the slightest clue who it was. The voice was familiar so it had to have been someone from the meeting when him and his sister had joined. Shrugging Azzan answered unsure if the voice's owner would be able to hear him. "Well actually I was having a dandy time bending the water to my will. You know it can be fun being able to bend water. Quiet the pass time if I do say so myself." Chuckling lightly again Azzan took a second to sit down and wait to see if the voice's owner would come to claim it. "So may i ask what fine lady of Nefendus I am chatting with right now?" He questioned to the open air. Huh maybe he was just going crazy. Speeeeech!

Only a couple males had come to the calling, and even less were "social butterflies" like this. She opened her eyes, confirming her thoughts of Azzan standing before her. The water lifted from his form, but because of the color it looked like his very life fluid was draining from his veins and taking to the sky. If she didn't know for a fact it was the water, Vox would probably freak out. Before it left him though, she couldn't pretend not to notice the way his fur clung to his frame.
"So may i ask what fine lady of Nefendus I am chatting with right now?"
All-powerful alpha or not, she was a female and females had heats. Once the original thoughts came, the strange feeling always sent her mind reeling. It was something so foreign, it was easy to detect and rid herself of it, but the fact that it was still there left her mentally woosey. Voxah was no prude...but jeez, not really the time, mother nature.
Bringing herself back to the here and now, she stood up and stretched. She was behind him a bit, but may appear in his peripheral now that she moved. She leapt from her pedestal a bit more gracefully than she thought she was capable and for that she silently thanked Atrox. Vox was large for a female, built much more like a tank than a doe, but like every girl she silently wished the latter. Of course, the little tom boy would never admit it.
She made her way over to him, but it was now that she was focusing on the "graceful" factor, she tripped over her own foot. With the other, she caught herself before her face met the sand, but she hoped he didn't notice.
Why, I'm insulted you had to ask, Azzan. She replied, playful sarcasm lacing her tones.

A shape formed to his right, she was perched on a rocky out crop. Her purple pelt clearly signaling who it was then. Azzan turned toward her before returning to his sitting position. He watched as she leap from her spot, quite gracefully he had to note. As she trotted over toward him Azzan couldn't help but notice her little trip, though she stopped herself before completely rolling up into a purple ball.
Azzan greeted her the same way he had at the meeting with a low bow. He seemed to like greeting her that way, it was fancy, or at least he thought so. "Well then if it isn't Lady Voxah come to the oasis." He chuckled lightly, "I am very much appalled at myself. Tisk tisk, shame on me not to recognize such a lovely voice." He could hear the playful tone in her voice, and was glad to have an alpha who wasn't standoffish or boring.
Standing up now he'd wait for the lady to sit first, or decide if she'd take a leave, though Azzan hoped she'd not leave so soon. One thing Azzan also liked about Voxah was she didn't seem like the perfect type, and she didn't act it either, at least to his knowledge of her yet. She had her imperfections like every other wolf, and even though she was an alpha she didn't seem to hide them behind a veil.
The familiar bark some place much farther into the sandy dunes caught his ears, Ayla. She was clearly enjoying herself so he didn't bother. Turning his complete attention back to Voxah, "So what brings the lady of Nefendus out here to these scorched lands today?" He cocked his head slightly to the side with a playful smile on his lips. At least he didn't have to worry about getting in trouble, at least he hoped. Speeeeech!

In all honesty, it made her uncomfortable. Voxah was no queen to be primped and pampered. She was a warrior...sorta, but nonetheless, was not used to such treatment. She didn't really want to get used to it, either. Please, the "ladys" and the bowing, totally unnecessary. Yeah I'm alpha and all, err..whatever, but unless you actually do something wrong, we're equal." She said, sitting down near his side.
The little yip that echoed through the desert sky, having no obstruction to disturb it, seemed to elicit an even lighter mood from the male. He loved his sister dearly, she could tell. Voxah couldn't remember any siblings. She was a single pup litter, but there were others in the band. They met a lot when they traveled, her family of gypsies never really settling in one place. Her mothers sermons ring in her ears even now, years later, even in her absence. The constant movement was in her blood, and it was still common to see her straying from Nefendus just to walk around.
"So what brings the lady of Nefendus out here to these scorched lands today?"
He asked, and she cringed again at the new, official "L" word. The spotted female shrugged, Good question. I dunno. She replied, looking at her paws for a second, embarrassed that she didn't have a better answer. Uhh, you?

She seemed uncomfortable with his surnames, only to have his thought confirmed by her words. As she finished talking she came closer to him taking a seat by his side. "Well then consider that word cast away. I don't aim to make you uncomfortable, and I'm sure I've done nothing wrong so equals we shall be." Azzan was completely ok with agreeing to her terms. He was never really sure what others would prefer so he took took the gentleman road in hopes all would be pleased. Only when she asked him to stop would he. Even though he had done away with the sir names, he'd still be a gentleman, nothing wrong with that now was there?
As the echoing sounds of his sister died away slowly he turned to Voxah with a gentle smile on his face as he listened to her. e watched as she shrugged, not really having a reason out here. Although she also didn't really require a reason to be out here. she could go where ever she wanted whenever she wanted.
Feeling his front legs stiffen under his weight from walking most the day with his sister Azzan allowed himself to lay down. He figured if Voxah wanted to she would follow suit, though if she didn't he wouldn't mind. In a way it was nice to know she'd not be one of those alphas. "I simply was following my sister out here until I caught wind of this place and left her to play with her fire out in the desert where she couldn't kill anything." He laughed slightly, hoping Voxah didn't mind Ayla setting fire to the the already dry and dead desert dunes.

It made her think back to only a few seconds ago, when real water clung his fur to his muscular form. She bit the inside of her cheek, silently chastising herself for such thoughts. She was an adult now, and the time of frolicking after males like a lovesick puppy was long over, especially given her single leader position. Voxah had just met this guy, and regardless his good looks she had to make the best choice for herself and her pack. After all, as much as she would hate to admit it, taking a mate would be like stepping down for her. She wasn't power hungry. In fact, she really wasn't looking to join a pack much less become its leader, but when Atrox calls, she calls loudly. Now that she had it, Voxah was not about to give it to the first brute that waltzed in wanting it. Or her.
Wolves, just like nearly all animals, intellectually turned to follow a lead male. Sure, Voxah was much larger than your average female in both height and muscle tone, she didn't want to be considered masculine. Sub-consciously though, she knew that in the minds of those who followed her, she was.
She sighed lightly, unendingly glad that it was not he who was the telepath. The air around the oasis was drastically cooler than only a few feet away, and with each intake, she cooled more. Her blue eyes flicked to the still water, the trees around the area dancing in its reflection like a teenage girl would do naked in front of her bedroom mirror. Her ears flicked to Azzan as he talked, and Voxah chucked lightly in response. Well then, I'll be sure to leave in that direction. She laughed, motioning with her head the opposite way.

Azzan watched as her gaze turned toward him, though it seemed to look like she was simply looking at him. Clearly she was just thinking to herself. Ayla did that very often. She'd just get lost in her own thoughts before saying anything again. Still Azzan smiled and waited patiently for Voxah to say something, he knew she would eventually.
Laying there Azzan rolled over onto his back in a playful manner. One of his forepaws falling over to the side as he rolled hitting Voxah lightly. "Yup, though to bad for me I'll have to go that way." He laughed, "Well i guess I wouldn't have to. Ayla is fully able to take care of herself. In fact I'd love to see the brute who tried to tango with her. I'm sure his pelt would be blacker than night when she was done with him." Again Azzan couldn't help but picture the scene in his head and laugh. He would love to be there when that day came that someone crossed the line with Ayla. Though he might also have to be there to be the one to cool Ayla down, literally.
Now on his side facing Voxah Azzan was looking up at her. The light hitting her pelt was glorious. Her purple speckled pelt was amazing. Something Azzan had never seen before. It seemed that so many wolves these days seemed bland or similar. Though she was exotic and nothing bland. "So Voxah, how have you been since we last met? It was sure fun hunting with you, we'll have to do it again sometime soon." Azzan was sure Ayla wouldn't mind him taking sometime from her to hang out with Voxah. In fact she'd tease him to the ends of the world about it.
Speeeeech!
