The night air had claimed the earth now, it's darkness a constant reminder of the loss this pack had suffered. It was even colder now, then it was during the chilled fall days. He didn't mind it though, he was heavily built like his father, so he could endure the weather with ease. Shifting his weight, he moved silently through the lingering darkness. His deep purple and black pelt blending in well with the familiar forest. Salmon eyes and nose gleamed through the night air it seemed, but he still kept himself well hidden. He was in search of their new alphess. Morpheus believed he deserved a higher title then what he currently held. He was the past alpha's son anyway. Technically this pack belonged to him. But he had no interest in leading the pack. Helping was another story it seemed.
"Emerge from your hiding spot Lovita." he spoke softly. His voice holding much mystery in its tones. Ears pulled to the top of his skull as he waited with perfect patience. Mind wandering easily about his thoughts and memories. Wondering if she would accept his request for the beta position. Despite how little she knew of him. But who else to trust but the past alpha's son? Hm? He believed it was a good argument. Grinning he took a seat on the forest floor. The trees around him swaying with the wind which forced them to do so.
Morpheus, he was one that fought the winds breeze. He did not go where it wanted him to. No, he went where he felt like going. Whether it was against where life wanted to take him or not.

Though with her new rein she had set a new ranking system, something she was more use to. Finally having a system set in stone made Lovita slightly more comfortable, though she had yet to appoint anyone to be second in command. There were several wolves who seemed like they would make suitable for the job, though one wolf in particular was Charon's son himself. He seemed to be a well groomed wolf who had his bearing about himself, and if he wanted to he could have challenged Lovita for rein of the pack.
Ahead of her the bushes swayed and then paused. Silently Lovita stopped, she was apparently behind a wolf, how she had never noticed was her own fault and she scolded herself at her lack of noticing. Ahead of her she heard his voice, something about her to come out from her hiding spot. Chuckling she Stepped out from the shadows behind the wolf, Morpheus. "Hello there Morpheus. It's nice to meet you again." He was a larger brute, actually almost the same size as Lovita, maybe a hair taller, with black fur that seemed tinted with purple throughout it. From what Lovita had heard about his father, Charon, he was an albino wolf, so this striking difference between an albino and him were quiet large.
Sitting down Lovita made herself comfortable, almost forgetting she was the one in charge here. "Feel free to make yourself comfortable, I don't mind." Shrugging a small amount she smiled at Morpheus. Cocking her head to the side slightly though she did have a few questions for him, "Would you mind telling me about maybe some of the pack history, how your father ran the pack? I feel like I have changed so much of the old structure." In all honesty Lovita had changed a lot about the pack from what she had been told about the old system, but it also made more sense to her this way.

Morpheus was a mysterious soul in the pack, never talking with many and keeping to himself for the most part. He only talked to a few of the pack members, but seemed to always just watch from afar. Only showing up when he was needed. Mind raced back to when he had spoken to Selena the first time. Telling her, he was Charon's son and how angry she was. Angry that he had a son, when she loved him so much. It was a shame really, Morpheus had no problems with Selena, and would of loved to see her and his father get together. Sighing, his muscles tensed as he watched Lovita pull herself from the shadows. Smirking, he stepped forward.
He dipped his head to her, showing both respect and merely a greeting nod. "Nice to see you again as well Lovita. I hope no ones giving you any trouble." he told her. He missed his father dearly, but would not take that frustration out on her. It was not her fault he had left. He was just glad someone was here to look after the pack now, and keep things as they should be. Sitting down before her, he shifted his weight to get comfortable.
"Of course I don't mind telling you. Honestly the only thing that was different was the ranks. We had divisions. Generally the same ranks, yours give more specifics which I think we need. We had no beta rank before either." he explained. Hoping not to confuse her. Charon was about just as strict as she. It was merely different ranks and such that she had introduced. "And if you are wondering...my mother was a maned wolf, who had pink fur, with some black markings, thats why me and my father don't look alike as far as colors go. However were like twins when it comes to build." he told her with a light chuckle.

Lovita let herself relax, though she kept a tall posture, regal in a way. Nodding her head slightly as she listened to him, so she hadn't really changed to much about the pack which was good. "Well I hope everyone will be able to understand my ranking system." Ever since she was little that was the ranking system her own father had used in her small group.
Chuckling slightly, she had indeed been wondering his origins as well. "Well that would seemed to clear up anything about why you seem so alike but dislike your father from what I have gathered." Nodding her head slightly before going on, it seemed like maybe he had something he'd like to address, which honestly almost everyone did right now. "So what is up? It seemed you had been looking for me before." Not that he couldn't have just wanted to talk to her, but he didn't seem like the type just for talking.
Shifting her weight slightly to make herself more comfortable Lovita allowed her tail to curl around her front paws. All around her it seemed everything was alive and chattering, which was a good thing, a very good thing. Valcantia seemed well off, and not lacking in numbers at all. Recently it seemed though some packs had lost numbers, great amounts of numbers in fact. Carefully she watch Morpheus, he seemed to be a wolf of good character, but she wasn't going to judge by the cover alone.

Morpheus did hold himself with pride, but not so much to make it appear like he was trying to dominate the new alphess. He was merely proud of who he was, who his father was and to be apart of such a pack. The chilled night air surrounded him, but couldn't pierce through his thick arctic fur. Yawning, he shook his head lightly. He really needed to get some sleep pretty soon. Smiling, he nodded to her. "I'm sure they will." he assured her.
Ears perked as she spoke of how that explained his appearance. And he smiled. His parents were great, honestly he wished he could see his mother again. She was greatly missed, and his father would be as well, now that he had left. Mind flicked back to the past, when he was a pup. He didn't remember his siblings, which was a harsh thought. Sad, really. But that didn't matter anymore, he had his own life to worry about.
"I have been looking for you actually. I would like to request to be beta, if that's not too much to ask." he explained. Muscles tensed, he wasn't sure of her response. Couldn't even get an idea of what she might say. Of course no one could take a guess. Especially with the fact that he knew so little about her. He was a bit nervous, but refused to let it show on his features.
