He has a black stripe that goes from the tip of his tail to the base of his spine, where the marking flares out to a saddle like shape. At the base of his neck, the marking once again shrinks into a strip that climbs onto his face, where it once again flares out to appear to look like a mask. All in all, Arlequin has a handsome exterior as he does an interior.

ABOUT THE CHARACTER –
Personality: Arlequin is quite the complex character. He chooses to enfold himself in silence and solitude and is often seen on his own. Seldom is he ever aggressive, he rarely lets his emotions invade his expression. His past left a lasting effect on him, but it caused some good too. He was born with the ability to feel others emotions, Empath as it is called, and he didn’t notice it until he was older, when it became stronger and more noticeable. Arlequin never attacks someone without a good reason, nor does he ever intentionally try to cause others pain, due to the sufferings brought to him. Sometimes he is mistaken for a pacifist for not wanting to participate in combat, but his quick wit is what gets him out of most situations. Arlequin is one of those wolves that deny having a major fault, but he does. Grudges and revenge are what sets him back, usually because he holds others actions to heart and will linger on it for a long while. Arlequin sometimes observes others for a short period of time, making little notes and observation on the subject, before making a final judgment of their person, seeing as he gets extremely paranoid at times and wants to make sure that he is around others that he can trust. Arlequin hates it when others try to manipulate him. He can tell quite easily of someone’s motives, and can become extremely annoyed with those who do.
History:
“Mama, why is everyone scared of me?” The little voice came, a pup’s eyes pricking with tears. He sat, his mother’s warm body curled around him. The fae nuzzled the bridge of the little crimson pup’s maw, “Oh, my little warrior, nobody is afraid of you, but they fear for you.” A confused look flashed across the pup’s face, “Why?” The gentle fae sighed, “Little warrior, because there are thing in this world that were forbidden, but are sometimes broken. And when they are, the wolves who did it suffer.” The pup’s eyes widened. “But I didn’t do anything wrong!” The fae once again nuzzled the crimson pup, comforting him. “I know little warrior. Now sleep. Tomorrow will be bright, the sun warming the world for you.” The little pup curled his tail closer to him and rests his head for slumber. A worry bits at his gut, but he closes his eyes and falls in a deep slumber, his mind on the rhythmic sound of his mother’s breath.
---
“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” Arlequin cowered behind his mother, his eyes wide with fright as the wolf’s deep voice boomed within the silence. The large male stalked closer, his size overwhelming compared to him and his mother. His eyes were a bright red; on his face was a bloodthirsty smile. “My, my, that once little pup of yours has grown. But he should have died long ago.” The wolf flashed a pearly smile. The fae growled her fur bristling. “You won’t lay a single claw on him!” She growled her fur on end. Arlequin whimpered. He wished this would all end. Suddenly, several others came from the undergrowth behind the male. They all looked equally intimidating. A look of surprise flashed across the fae’s face. She backed away, pushing Arlequin with her. “Run!” She whispered as she bolted away, quickly grabbing Arlequin by the scruff. “Get her!” The male’s voice boomed. The sound of howling broke the silence in the air. Even though the wolves were fast, Arlequin’s mother was faster. Even with a large pup in her jaws, she quickly outran the wolves.
As silence overcame the empty clearing, the fae came to a stop, her breathing heavy. She gingerly set Arlequin down. “Oh my little warrior, I should have left these lands long ago.” The fae sighed. Arlequin whimpered in response. “I can no longer keep you safe.” The fae whimpered as she lifted the Arlequin once again. She moved quickly in the undergrowth. The sound of angry howling was heavy in the air. Moving with discrete, the fae moved to a small den. It was a hollow tree that was leaning over another. Heavy vines and moss grew on the sides, blending the den into its background. There eventually the sound of howls vanished and the shadow of darkness overcame. “Mama, are they coming back to get me?” Arlequin whimpered, pushing deeper into his mother’s fur. “No, no, of course not! Do not worry my little warrior. I’ll protect you.” The fae said softly. “Now sleep. Tomorrow will be better.” Arlequin whimpered, but rested obediently. He closed his eyes, falling into slumber.
The next morning was grim. Arlequin woke up to the sound of yowls. He stood quickly, recognizing his mother’s voice. Choosing not to run outside of the den, he quickly moved toward a slight open in the moss that blocked the entrance. Silently he watched. The wolves had come again. His mother was surrounded by three of them, the same wolf from the day before was one of them. Arlequin whimpered. The fae had a large gash on her side, blood dripped from her wounds. “We ordered you off our land long ago, warning you that you would suffer if you disobeyed. Now that we find you here, you must suffer.” The red eyed male growled, beginning to circle the fae. He snarled, “Now die!” His claws quickly drew against her flanks. He quickly bit her leg as she tried to flee; the sound of bones cracking filled the air. The fae slumped down, her breath heavy as she glared at her attacker. “Now now, don’t try to run. Are you forgetting your only one to three?” The fae growled softly, she was too weak to stand. “Sir,” One of the other wolves said, “We need to hurry. The alpha is expecting us to return soon.” The red eyed wolf nodded. “Don’t worry. This will be quick.” The red eyed wolf smiled. He smiled at the fae. “Goodbye.” With a quick bite, the fae slumped over, the life torn from her body.
Arlequin’s body shook from shock. He wanted to run away from this place. His eyes widen as his mother fell limp. “What about her pup?” One of the other wolves asked, flicking his tail toward Arlequin’s hiding place. The red eyed wolf snorted. “Without his mother, that pup will probably die on its own, either from bird of prey or starvation. He’s not worth our time.” With that, the red eyed wolf turned his back and stalked back into the undergrowth, the two other wolves following him. Arlequin whimpered as they left. As soon as silence over took the clearing, Arlequin carefully made his way to where his mother laid. He whimpered to her cold touch. Curling into her side, Arlequin sat there for what felt like years.
“Mama, is he dead?” Arlequin’s eyes flashed open. Stood around him where two white pups, around his size and their mother, whose flanks where just as white as theirs. Arlequin whimpered at the sudden strangers. “Don’t be scared, little one. We won’t hurt you.” The white fae’s voice was soft. Arlequin looked up at the fae, hazel eyes wide. “Is this your mother?” The white fae’s voice was grief stricken. Arlequin whimpered. “Come with us. You’ll get killed out here. I’ll take care of you.” The fae murmured. “Yeah! You can play with us!” One of the white pups called out, bounding over to Arlequin. Arlequin gazed over the wolves that surrounded him. They didn’t seem hostile. And the fae was really nice. But he wasn’t sure if he should leave mama here, alone. “Come. Let us lay her body to rest.” The white fae nudged Arlequin up to his paws. His legs were numb, but he stood regardless. Soon the white fae and her pups had gathered twigs, stones and flowers. They gently gathered the objects in a tomb like structure above the lifeless mother. Soon her body was no longer visible, her body encased in the beautiful pyre. They had completed the pyre by noon.
Soon the white fae began to nudge her pups to their own den. “Tell me, what is your name?” Arlequin blinked at the white fae. “Arlequin.” The fae smiled. “Well then, Arlequin, come with us. Come to our home.” Arlequin shuffled his paws. A few seconds passed before he nodded his head. The white fae nuzzled his maw. “Come.” Arlequin nodded, and followed the fae and her pups to their new home.
Three years after, Arlequin has grown, but he decided to leave his foster mother and siblings. He wasn’t looking for a mate, and still isn’t, but after hearing few stories of the packs; he grew to want to venture to their lands and to join them. Soon after, Arlequin mustered up the courage to leave and search for the pack of Valcantia.YOU WANT MY OUTLINE DRAWN;
