a l o n e IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE? I S T H E R E A N Y O N E ?
Her body moved through the willows, eyes searching the world around her, as her breath came out in puffs. She growled faintly as she stepped down into a hole, her body shifting quickly, almost injuring herself. Claws gripped the ground, releasing again with each step, as her tongue rolled out of her mouth, breathe making her look more like a dragon then she normally did. Her horns were curved rams horns, dragon wings rested on her back, two snake tongue were what was in her mouth, while her odd colored eyes stared out ahead of her. She had strange stripes of green and black running down her back, and a tribal marking on her front from her front paws up. Her legs were striped purple and green. She was a fae, an odd one at that.
Ess let out a soft snarl, letting it rumble on her insides, heating them up some. Finally her mind just went blank, letting her go into her more instinctive mode, as she sniffed the ground. Her mouth opened slightly, letting the air flow through it, as she sniffed the smell of a pup, probably a few months old, male. Well she might as well check it out, depending on which side of her decided to take over, but for now her instinct was over everything, tracking this little male until she finally saw him, soft snarls erupted from her body curious as to what he was doing all by himself.

Small though strong frame stalked through the underbrush, chasing that of a rat that had scurried out in front of him. Pelt of gray, black and red shined in the slight sunlight that escaped through the tree canopy above. He had found the time to stalk away from the watchful eye of his parents and siblings though in a way they encouraged such behavior. He was still young and still relied on his parents for many things. He would grow out of it, soon enough he wouldn’t need to rely on them any longer and could go out on his own and do as he pleased.
The rat ran in front of him again and his tiny paws carried him towards it. Though it was faster than he was, he still was able to keep up. He was close to grabbing it’s long, skinless tail before he sensed the other near. Tiny wings fluttered lightly as he set them up again upon his back. It was something he would get used to. He wasn’t to fond of his wings but figured they were there for a reason. He turned away from his chase, bounding back the way he came, the scent of the female close. It would be his first encounter besides that of his parents. Hey why not? It gave him friends to count on when he grew old enough to venture out on his own finally. Black and red tipped auds sat upright upon his head, listening, waiting. His heart beat rapidly in his chest, slightly scared of what this new encounter may bring.
He tread through the brush and dirt, meeting up with the femme face to face. He stepped back, his front right paw moving to meet up with his chest as he stood back. He took in the sight of the wolf, much taller than he. Strange emerald type eyes watching every move she made. He didn’t want to make the wrong move, not now, though it would only prove to be a lesson later on he was sure. His young voice rang out, though slightly shaky in his fear, “He..hello there..” He said simply. The female was an interesting combination of colors and accessories so to speak, something he had yet to be exposed to.

a l o n e IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE? I S T H E R E A N Y O N E ?
She stared at the young male before her, his simple markings making her feel even more strange then normal. Well to her, he was plain, it wasn't her fault though. She was simply so strange, although she would have to deal. She stood, watching him for second before one wing extended slightly, curious as to what his reaction would be. "Hello child, might I ask how you got out of here all by yourself?"she asked him, tail wrapping around her body as she finally stretched both massive wings out. She hoped his parents would not emerge, and attack her, there was no need for that really. She had no want to be accused as a pup killer. Her mind wandered a little before it went back to him.
You are a little fella aren't you, I bet your parents wonder where you've gotten off to she said her scottish accent strong as she watched him, before she finally stood up, body shaking off, listening to the sounds of her scales tattling as she did. She yawned, long teeth now clearly seen. She watched him for a moment ebfore looking off, another way, hearing the sounds of an animal in distress. She looked back at him giving him a small smiled before stretching herself out.
Her mind seemed restless right now, as though it didn't want to rest right now, while her body wanted her to. She had been traveling for weeks to get here, and now she wasn't sure what to do. She was sort of stuck here. Until she healed, and everything she would be staying here.
I speak to you...

The young pup was still uncertain of what to do. His body told him to stay but his mind told him to flee. This encounter would probably be a mistake and his life probably depended on it. He knew his parents weren’t far off, their scents were still strong in the area he had come to prance through. Any sound that came from his small body would carry towards his mother and father, and they would come running. He was still amazed his sister had not followed him as well, she had a knack of doing that, seeming that he was her favorite brother out of the two. He stepped forward slightly into the light, revealing the small tribal marking upon his back as well as the gray that streaked through his face meeting up with the black upon his back where two small black raven like wings lay gently. Dark green orbs studying the femme before him.
Her voice rang through his ears, beautiful and soothing. Perhaps he wouldn’t have to worry to much about his life if this female was kind enough to show no threat, “I am not far from my family. They are just through those trees.” He said, his head turning back in the direction he had been heading before her scent had stopped him in his tracks. His gaze followed her wings as they outstretched, he doing the same in return though his were still small and less than useable at his age, “You have wings to. I thought my parents and siblings were the only ones that did.” He said joyfully, seeing as they weren’t the only ones. He would find out in time that many wolves shared the gift of flight as he did.
“No, my parents encourage us to wander off once and a while. They know we won’t wander off far.” He replied to her last remark. Head cocked to the side as the sound of her scales hit his small ears. That was different. He was still learning and that was a sound he had yet to hear in his young life. He moved forward, trying to see what had made that sound but as she moved again, he backed away. He was still skittish, shy almost though any pup his age would be so around someone he had never met. He stayed close to the under brush close by, just in case he had to run, though thanks to his white fur and bright red marking upon his back, he was much easier to spot than that of his brother and sister. He would get used to it. Once he got older things would be better for him.

a l o n e IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE? I S T H E R E A N Y O N E ?
She smiled faintly seeing him very interested in her wings, and when he spoke of both parents having wings she simply nodded. Well she knew quite a few wolves had wings in this world, not much different from her homeland, but that was behind her now. She let out a soft sigh and smiled a little seeing him mimic her. "Oh my dear there are plenty of others with wings, and plenty without. Many with strange markings, horns, strange deformities. No two wolves are the same really. Even twins have their differences. Just as I guess you and your brothers or sisters" she said softly before noticing him looking around confused about the sounds of her scales.
She stretched a wing out, in front of her towards him, as she laid down letting him see her scales. She moved a little, letting the sounds of the scales rubbing fill the air. "They are scales, you've got feathers all over your wings, and other wolves have bat wings. Have you ever seen a bat before? You can normally hear then at night, they fly around in the sky and catch the bugs. she said smiling a little, doubting he would move far out of the bush. "I will not hurt you, trust me. I've got no reason to hurt you. I had a pup of my own once, so I am obviously not a pup killer" she said before she pulled her wings back to her body again. She was just laying square, able to jump up if his parents showed up, guessing she would have to go as fast as could, and well of course flight wouldn't be the best thing.
She listened and heard them moving further away, probably going back home, and thanks to her telepathy she could somewhat see a den in one of the wolves minds. A shredded picture, sort of fuzzy, but it was there. She let out a soft sigh and laid her head down.

He stepped into the open again, the light catching his white coat and red accents of his body. He sat not far from the female before him, curiosity full in his eyes and how he acted. His brother and sister would definitely be jealous of this encounter with her since they hadn’t done so, at least not yet. This was truly his first time he had ventured away so he was unsure of what lie outside of the area he had been born in, “Oh, I didn’t know.” He said simply, “None of us are twins, that I know for sure. Neither my brother nor sister look like me. They both have their own looks and they both have wings like me.” He added, sitting upon his haunches in a spot of sunlight. He normally didn’t like the sunlight but with the weather changing, the warmth was nice for a change. He outstretched both of his wings. They were nothing spectacular. The upper part was black while the under part of his wings were gray in color. Raven in appearance, they would definitely be something to look at when he got older.
Dark green gaze looked over her wing as she lowered it down to her. He stepped closer, one small paw touching the scales that decorated them. Audits perked again as the sound of her scales hit them once more, “I wish I had scales. They look better!” He laughed, sniffing at them before touching them again, “I’ve seen bats before. They like to fly over the den every night though they are far away. They are hard to see and I can never catch one to see them up close.” He said towards her question of bats. Bats were one of the coolest creatures he had seen, even though they were far away when he was able to find them. One day though he would catch one so he could get a better look. They reminded him of birds but less noisy and feathery. He had been feeling better with her presence. Her words helped change his mind.
He was able to sit closer to her now, taking in the sight of her wings and scales. Both of his parents as well as his siblings had wings full of feathers other than the scales that decorated hers. Her scent filled his small nose, taking it in, getting familiar with it. Perhaps when he got a little older he would find her again, get to know her a little better than he could right now. Her words of a pup of her own made him a little excited. A new play mate would definitely be nice, “Where is your pup?” He questioned curiously. He stood, walking around her body to see if the pup may suddenly appear. A new playmate would be nice, the same playmate over and over again did definitely get boring. You could only play with your parents and siblings so many times before it got lame.
In his mind he was aware of his parents not far off. He knew they weren’t worried, otherwise they’d be here looking for him. They were pretty laid back, allowing their pups to do as they wanted as long as they weren’t far from the den. To them they were still to young to go on any true adventure away from their home site. As she laid her head down, he went to her, growling lightly as he tried to bite at her ear.

The female smiled softly as he said he wanted scales instead."Well here dear, hold on" she told him, turning her head and letting one of her long sabers pull a scale off, it landing on her foot and she grabbed a small vine, threading it through the hole on the scale and making a sort of necklace for him. She put it around his neck, knowing that when he would grow older it would be more like a choker, but for now it would work as a necklace that wouldn't get in his way. She smiled a little and looked at the scale shining purple, green, black, and orange. "No you've got a scale of your own" she said smiling. When he mentioned about bats she nodded, and if he was still with her around dark she may catch him one just to show him what they looked like. She was just happy to spend time with a pup. Since she had lost Calix years ago, well she had been heart broken. She just smiled a little at him when he sat closer to her, and she frowned when he asked about her pup. Now she was sorry that she had even mentioned it.
"He is no longer with me"she said tone sad, as she looked away, blinking a few times to stop any tears that might end up falling from her eyes. She knew if he was still alive, he was an adult by now. She was of course a immortal, but still, she did wonder about that beautiful little pup. To her, he was the most beautiful little male in the world. Having the same back markings as she, almost black pelt, with white and orange stripes. His tribal marking orange, and the stripes on his legs just white. He had antlers, long claws and sabers like she had. His wings were the same dragon wings, and he had one eye orange, and the other purple just like she had.
Oh how she had loved him, the day he opened his eyes was the day that she gave him away to her friend, running off to find her mind once again, but that was a dark time. A very very dark time that she wished not to revisit. "I'm sorry to disappoint you... Pardon me. I forgot your name, my name is Ess pronounced like the letter Ess, what is your name?
I speak to you...

He laid down beside her, small tail wrapping around his small form. Audits still lay perked upon his tiny skull, the anticipation growing as he watched her. He definitely would have wanted scales to adorn his wings much more than the feathers. They made him look meaner, darker, more unique compared to his siblings and parents. They all had wings similar to his. Raven like in appearance though the colors all varied between them all. His parents were both black, his as well as his brothers though his sisters mimicked that of their parents. Dark green eyes watched her in anticipation and want at what she was doing. He was unsure at first but once the scale was placed around his head, his heart raced. Now his sister would definitely be jealous. He smiled darkly to himself, disallowing the female to see it. He looked down at the scale around his neck, taking in the colors and texture he couldn’t see before. He jumped up happily, pawing at her neck as he licked her cheek softly, “Thank you!!” He said joyfully, bouncing back from her and staring back down at the scale. His parents would question him but he didn’t care, it was his whether they liked it or not.
His happiness stopped when he noticed her declining mood. He was unsure of what to do to comfort her, he didn’t fully understand, not until her words broke the silence. He whimpered softly, sorry she had lost her son. It would have been fun, having a friend outside of his family, “Oh, what happened to him?” He asked, not fully understanding that the subject hurt her so much, if he knew, he wouldn’t have asked or even bothered with it, “It would have been nice to have a friend outside of my siblings, they can get boring to play with.” He added, rolling over on his back, his belly exposed to the sky. All he had in the world was his family. He longed for adventure and to be out on his own but alas he was still to young to be allowed to leave. He still relied on his parents for the food they were provided as well as the warmth of their den. Things would change, it wasn’t much longer now.
“It is alright.” He said, gaze turning back towards her, “Can’t always get what you wish for.” He added, rolling back to his side. His head tilted to the side, her name sounding interesting. Ess. Simple. His name, well, it wasn’t so simple, “My name is Genesis.” He replied to her question, “Ess. I like it!” He said happily again, watching her reactions and facial expressions, trying to take in the emotions others felt. He didn’t know much about emotions. All he knew was when he was hungry, or tired, or angry. At this age of 4 months, he couldn’t quite differentiate between them all.

a l o n e IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE? I S T H E R E A N Y O N E ?
She enjoyed how happy the pup was, more then happy about that herself, she was glad she was able to make his day. after all, she had been helping people since she left Calix with her friend. She smiled a little and then when he mentioned where her son was, she felt her heart breaking again. She mulled over for a few moments while she thought of an answer to his question, before she finally found something "He died." she said. She was not sure, she figured he had not made it.
She nodded when he mentioned about the whole wanting another friend thing. She laughed a little, just amused by him. "Well, I maybe be older then you, but do not think I will not play with you. Nor do you think because of our age difference we can't be friends. she said with a smile and then licked his belly a little, tongue flicking out in a normal snake like manner, just tasting the air. Well she could not smell or taste his family. She guessed they were looking for him somewhere else, or figured he was already home. She noticed it was starting to get dark, so well she doubted he should be out after dark.
"Do you need to be home dear?" she asked him, wondering what could happen to the little male if he did not return home for the evening. They still had a little while, so it wasn't like the little male couldn't stay with her for the evening. She had a cave that was just down wind from the den, and was rather secluded. So it wasn't like he wouldn't be safe with her. She was very motherly to younger animals when needed.

The gift she had given him was the only gift he had ever received. His family hadn’t given anyone gifts since the day he was born but obviously, he had been granted with a new found friend who would give him gifts. He was unsure of her change of moods, he could see the sadness that plagued her form but didn’t understand. He couldn’t differentiate between many emotions that were felt through out the day but he was learning. In time he would come to understand. Small ears fell to his head as she spoke that her pup had died. Now he understood why sadness covered her façade, a death of any loved one would cause such emotion, “Oh..I’m..I’m sorry..” He said, whimpering softly as he cuddled up in front of her.
He looked up towards her as she spoke again. His head cocked to the side, she could be his friend? But she was perhaps his parent’s age, or perhaps older. How could she be his friend? He was only 4 months old, barely allowed to live on his own yet. He could consider it, maybe he could keep it a secret from his family and visit her when he was able to wander off, “Okay, that’ll be nice. I can have a secret friend!” He laughed, “My siblings will be jealous, but I don’t know how my parents will feel.” He added, gaze turning towards the darkening sky. It was getting dark, he was unsure if his parents would even mind him being gone. They were pretty lenient with stuff but when it came to their safety, he wasn’t sure what to do. The sound of her tongue flicking caught his attention. He looked up towards her, head tilting again, “What was that?” He asked. The feel of her tongue did not match that of his mother’s.
He shrugged at her question. He was unsure of what to do. Maybe he could manage to stay away the entire night but then he wasn’t sure if he’d be scolded for it the next day or not, “I don’t know. I don’t know if my parents even mind me being out or not. They are okay with us wandering off during the day but none of us have ever been away all night.” He explained. He didn’t move his gaze from her facial features. Perhaps he could stay with her over night but would his parent’s worry? Would they come looking for him at night? Would Ess be in danger if his parents came around? Would they mind if he stayed with a friend? They would probably frown upon it. She was much older than he was, his mother probably wouldn’t like the fact that another female was trying to take her son away. He was the strongest of the two males, though Arizona had his ways as well. Onyx, well, she was just Onyx. She was hard to explain. She seemed obsessed with him as well as their father. She would be interesting to deal with in the future.

a l o n e IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE? I S T H E R E A N Y O N E ?
She nodded at him apologizing for her sons death. He had no caused it, she did not believe he needed to say sorry. He was a nice little male, and she would have liked her son to be able to play with him, but of course she doubted that he was alive. But then again, if he did come looking for her, she would of course allow him to see her, and welcome him into her life, so she tried not to focus on that. She did not want to feel sad about something she didn't have control over. She knew that the little male didn't understand emotions. Of course he wouldn't, he wouldn't for a while, so of course she would let him be for now. She smiled a little when he seemed happy about having a friend, though she wasn't all that thrilled about the whole secret part. But maybe that was best for all she knew.
His parents might not being the kindest of wolves, not to mention she doubted that his mother would be happy, after all she knew that if she still had her baby she wouldn't be happy about some female taking her baby. She smiled a little when he said that his siblings would be jealous, she honestly didn't want to cause to much trouble for the family, seeing as that would make tensions on her and his parents tighter. She had a feeling they might already be tight without them knowing about her as sad that really was. When he asked what the sound of her tongue flicking in and out of her mouth she smiled a little. She flicked her tongue in and out again, and then flicked both out. "I have the same tongue as snakes have." she said to him smiling a little.
She knew that most were nervous about her. She had ram horns, dragon wings, two snake tongues, sabers, insane claws, spines and an array of others things, she certainly was a sight. And she always had been. Even for her parents who were a mix of that. She just seemed to get a bit of everything. Well she was lucky in that respect. But oh well. She would have to not think about them.
"Well my dear Gen, I either must take you home, or you may spend the night with me"she told him stretching a little and flicking her tail somewhat.
I speak to you...

He made himself comfortable on her front paws, green pools scanning the area before him. He had yet to wander this way, mostly he had stayed out in the open. Today he had slipped under the cover of the bushes, though feared slightly that his parents would drag him back. Thankfully, they didn’t. He was glad he had ventured this way, it would have been likely he wouldn’t have met Ess and be laying at her feet now. He looked up to her, even though he envied his parents as well. She was his first friend, outside of his family that is. Though he was unsure of her age, he figured he could probably keep coming back to her in the future if need be as he grew. He knew he would grow fast, filling out his body quickly, taking on the attributes of his parents. Time would only tell what would happen in his future. He was unsure about keeping her a secret but would his parents mind? He knew they didn’t care if they wandered, but would they turn down the idea of having a friend much older than you? He felt her breath and looked towards her, the smile caressing her maw. He returned the smile, though it was less than pleasant in comparison.
He stood momentarily before stretching out forward. His small talons digging into the earth. His small wings outstretched as a yawn broke his lips. It was getting darker and a tad later than he thought. The day had worn down quickly, before he even knew it the night had come. His mind wandered still, unsure of what to do with Ess. He didn’t know whether to return home and then go out and meet her again the next day or simply stay with her for the night. Would his parents understand? He stood straight again, turning to look at her. His head cocked to the side slightly, watching as her tongue flicked from her mouth. He stuck his own out, going slightly cross-eyed trying to see it. He knew his didn’t look like that, “Why do you have a snake’s tongue and not one like mine?” He questioned, “I’ve seen plenty of snakes and their strange tongues but I haven’t seen another wolf with a tongue like one.” He added, sitting back down in front of her.
He was less than nervous around her. In fact, he was intrigued by her. Her horns, tongue, wings and tongues were only the first things he had really noticed about her, the very first being her wings since he hadn’t known any others with wings besides his family. He had heard of wolves in stories having horns close to what she had but the tongues as well as the rest of her strange features were still new to him. He would find out soon many had the same sort of accessories she did.
His nickname hit his ears, no one used that besides his parents. Guess there was a first time for everything, “I don’t know if my parents will worry or not. I’m stuck with what to do to be honest. I don’t want them to end up hurting you if they find you.” He said, whimpering softly.

a l o n e IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE? I S T H E R E A N Y O N E ?
She chuckled softly as he tried to look at his own tongue. Silly pup he was. She was careful picking him up and bringing him over to a puddle to see himself in it. She had gotten used to her strange reflection, or what she believed was a lack of reflection. She felt as though she didn't have one, like it was hollow. Sort of a shell of her former self, hiding in the water, waiting to attack her again. But Ess tried to pay little mind to it. She did not want to think of such dark things really. "I've got two tongues, see" she said flicking both out at one and then flicking them out as slow as she could again. She had the same design as a snake had, that sort of hollow tube for it's tongue, although she had two, one for each. "I don't really know. My mother and my father had normal tongues, but my grandfather didn't. He had snake tongues just like I do. It was a luck of the drawn I believe. she said softly thinking about her grandfather. She was his spitting image. She looked exactly like him, and was rather proud of that fact.
"Why don't I take you home, I will meet you tomorrow here if it pleases you. And if not here, don't worry. I will find you if you would like some company. I am always around here somewhere. she said standing seeing he looked rather tired. She carrying him back, seeing he was getting very sleepy. When they weren't far off from the den, still down wind she set him down gently smiling a little. "This is where we will depart my dear. you are only a few minutes walk from home, if that. I will stay here until you get home, just so I know you got home safe. she said before seeing him walk off.
The next day the fae was simply taking a jog, before she wandered into the thicket where she had been yesterday with the pup Genesis. She didn't know whether he would come back or not, but either way, the thicket was nice. It was warm when the sun shown down in dappled light, with the birds signing, and the sounds of the leaves falling. It was rather beautiful to her at least. Though she doubted the pup would appreciate it at all.

He hung limply in her mouth as he was picked up from the scruff. He watched the forest floor slip beneath him, though coming a long side the puddle, he was dropped next to it. He glanced at his reflection, taking in the strange colors of his face, the nicks in both ears though while small, still visible. His ears were tipped in red while the rest were black as well as his small tail. He stretched out one wing, able to get a good glance at it before folding it with the other. He stuck his tongue out, looking, studying. It was different than hers, but there again, everyone was unique in their own way. He looked up towards Ess again, watching both tongues flicker out. He smiled happily, “I thought you only had one!” He noted, “So you got the tongues from your grandfather. That is interesting. Strange your parents didn’t have them to though.” He said. Neither of his parents were adorned in the red markings his own body carried. His mother was black and grey, his father the same. He figured it had come from further down his family line as her tongues had.
He yawned again, before staring at his reflection again. She came into view above him, he could see her mouth move in the water as she spoke. He nodded simply. Perhaps it would be best if he did come home, he wouldn’t be scolded so badly then if he didn’t. As she carried him, he fell into a slight slumber, half awake and half asleep. He was aware that he was being carried home but his whole body had grown tired, and his energy level had dropped for the night. She set him down, his eyes fluttering open. He knew the den was only on the opposite side of the trees, his family’s scent strong. He stood, shaking out his body tiredly before turning to her, “Thank you. I will see you tomorrow.” He said tiredly, disappearing into the brush. It only took him a moment before he was on the other side of the forest, out in the open. His mother was there, waiting for him. She didn’t look angry, nor worried which he was thankful for.
The morning had come and gone and the temperature had become slightly warmer than the day before. His parents had allowed them all to go off if they chose to. While Arizona stayed behind as usual, he and Onyx went separate directions. He ran back into the forest where he had last seen Ess, though while her scent was strong, she was not anywhere in sight. He whimpered softly, green eyes scanning the area before him. He wandered forward more, disappearing into the thinning brush as the seasons had begun to change. Her scent became stronger as he walked on, though it was still mixed with others who had traveled here, he could seclude hers from the rest. He came to the area at which they had interacted the day before, her scent stronger here. He sat, awaiting whether or not she would appear. If not, he would go back home and perhaps follow his sister on her journey.

a l o n e IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE? I S T H E R E A N Y O N E ?
She stepped out of the thicket, walking over to where the pup was and making sure her steps weren't to loud until she was sure he was alone. When she was sure, she stepped out, head low wings opened a little looking a little bit different then before. She looked rested, and in better heath. It was rather nice of course, the first time in a while she had felt better. She body dropped down onto the ground and she let out a huff. She smiled a little at him and stretched her paws out, her claws gripping the soil. Good morning Gen. How are you this morning? You were worried I wasn't going to show up, but don't worry I was just in the thicken over there.
Ess smiled softly and then let her wings extend fully, feeling her tail twitch as she did so. She was rather content right now. Happy in their little hiding spot here. She did like this little male. He was rather cute, and reminded her of her own sun somewhat. She yawned a little looking around as the sun was shining down on top of them. There was a slight breeze that was blowing the scent of a family of Jack Rabbits not to far off. Maybe she would teach him how to hunt a little. Who knew. She was feeling a little hungry. Are you hungry Gen?" she inquired smiling a little. She stood up, stretching her body out, feeling her spine crack a little as she did so. Oh the annoyances of getting older.
It was something she would never be fond of of course. But she was immortal. so it was more her feeling older then she truly was. Even through she was defiantly older. Much older then most would suspect. But she would rather that then others thinking she was much older then she really was.
